ZONG is Ready for 5G, a Collaboration with ZTE for Advanced 5G Network Planning and Design Training
Zong 4G (CMPak Ltd) has once again demonstrated its leadership in Pakistan’s digital transformation by investing in cutting-edge technology and workforce development. In a recent initiative, the company partnered with ZTE to conduct a comprehensive five-day technical training program centered on 5G network design, capacity planning, and modernization.
The training aimed to enhance the expertise of Zong’s planning, optimization, implementation, and operations teams, equipping them with the technical depth and strategic insight required for the company’s upcoming 5G rollout and long-term network evolution goals.
The program was divided into three major focus areas. The first, 5G Network Design and Planning, delved into planning procedures, coverage optimization, and radio network cell parameter design. This segment enabled participants to understand how to design and optimize next-generation networks for greater performance and efficiency.

The second focus area, Network Modernization and Solution Architecture, provided hands-on training in 5G NR site solutions, modernization frameworks, and all-scenario microwave integration. This helped engineers explore how to seamlessly merge emerging technologies with existing infrastructure while maintaining scalability and reliability.
The third domain, Technology Evolution and Industry Applications, looked at 5G NR design principles, global 5G trends, and real-world applications across industries. It offered a broader view of how 5G innovation will shape business ecosystems and enhance user experiences across Pakistan.
The sessions were led by a seasoned ZTE University expert whose engaging teaching style and deep technical insight bridged theory and real-world practice. Participants praised the program for its practical relevance and forward-looking approach, acknowledging its role in preparing Zong’s teams for nationwide 5G readiness.
