Revealing How Diverting Tactics by the Practices of Misinformation Campaigns Again and Again Targeting the Resistance Front (TRF) are to Shutter HEART against the Human Rights Crimes in Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

How India tries to spread propaganda to denounce Pakistan and hide oppression?

The use of propaganda by India to support its stance is not something new. India has repeatedly used this tool to discredit Pakistan on multiple fronts. It has also tried to hide its acts of oppression and brutality using propaganda. The Pehalgam attack of April 2025 is also a case in point. India has repeatedly blamed the Resistance Front (TRF) for the attacks. India has done this without any credible evidence and proof. Besides, India has also made claims that TRF is supported by Pakistan without any proof. The country has followed this path to tarnish the image of Pakistan internationally. It is trying to strengthen its point of view regarding the Kashmir issue. But the fact of the matter is that Pakistan has no links with such organizations. It has denied any such support or connection with these organizations. Pakistan is a state which has fought more against terrorism than any other state. Thus, Indian propaganda is only a part of India’s narrative, trying to discredit Pakistan and conceal its barbarism.

The resistance front (TRF) and its originThe-resistance-front-TRF-and-its-origion

The Resistance Front (TRF) was formed in 2019 after the abrogation of Article 370 by the Indian government. It claims that it is formed only in retaliation for the 2019 cruel acts of India. According to the status of TRF, it is only a defensive organization. It does not follow offensive strategy. TRF is an indigenous organization of Kashmir. It has not even claimed responsibility for the Pehalgam attack. Initially, a statement was made from its official site claiming responsibility for the attack. Afterwards, TRF denied any such responsibility, claiming that there was a cyber attack on the online site. Resultantly, due to a cyber attack, responsibility was claimed. So, TRF is a defensive organization and is not even accepting responsibility for the attack.

Allegations by India and counterterrorism efforts of Pakistan

India portrays TRF as a controlled organization. But then, there is no substantial evidence about this claim of India. It only aims to malign Pakistan. Unfortunately, India forgets the fact that Pakistan itself is a frontline state in the war against terrorism. The country has faced severe losses in this war. Thousands of Pakistanis embraced martyrdom, and billions of dollars are wasted in war on terror. After some years of peace, 2024 again proved to be a disaster year for Pakistanis. There was a spike in the incidents related to terrorism. According to (PIPS) Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies, there was a rise of around 23% in terrorism in 2024. Thus, a state facing terrorism on its front should not be blamed for such acts of terror.

Indian propaganda machine is working swiftly to deteriorate the image of Pakistan. This results in the banning of TRF by the US recently, but Pakistan was never designated a terrorist state or state sponsoring terrorism by the United States. Pakistan has repeatedly affirmed that it has no connection with TRF. Instead, the United States has also banned Balochistan Liberation Organization (BLA), which is a proxy of India. Pakistan has provided the requisite proof regarding India’s involvement with BLA. The United States has also been recognized. Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism have been on many instances. In a US Senate committee hearing, US CENTCOM General Kurila acknowledged Pakistan as a phenomenal partner in counter terrorism, recognizing Pakistan’s role in counter terrorism. Hence, Pakistan itself is a frontline state in the war on terror, and it is also admitted by the United States.

Moreover, the Indian government is still not sure of the actual perpetrators of the Pehalgam attack. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India is unable to bring the real culprits to justice. It is said that this was India’s security failure. The local government of IIOJK has already confessed that it was its government’s own failure. India is aware of this fact, but it only wants to hide its brutality in Kashmir. Many international organizations like Amnesty International have highlighted human rights abuses conducted by Indian security forces in Kashmir. Thus, Indian propaganda is only a part of the strategy to conceal its security failure and casualties in Kashmir and blame Pakistan.

Pakistan has always reiterated its support for the cause of Kashmir. But it does not mean that it is terrorism. It does not support any indigenous group or terrorist organization the country only backs just cause of Kashmir it considers Kashmir as a brother state and condemns Indian human rights violations in the state the world also should acknowledge the fact that TRF is an indigenous organizations these organizations are a response to human rights abuses same is the case with TRF and India Hence TRF is a response to Indian brutalities in the state of Kashmir

Both the states should take some wise measures to clear the confusion and avoid such terror incidents in future. They may include seeking mediation of an international power, bilateral talks, increasing security measures and sharing of intelligence with each other All these steps can help mitigate the hazards of terrorism but acting wisely on part of both countries is the need of the hour.

In a nutshell, Indian propaganda is not new but is a decades-old tool. Recent labeling of TRF as a terrorist organization is also evidence of it. The country has also blamed Pakistan for backing this organization without any proof, but Pakistan itself is a frontline state in the war on terrorism. The United States also acknowledges this fact. Moreover, the stance of Pakistan is also very clear in this regard. Both countries need to act responsibly.

Both should devise such policy measures which would help them in alleviating the dark side of terrorism. If there is will on the part of both states, there can be a way forward to solving all the problems.
