Defeated Khawarij and Pakistan’s Zero Tolerance on Haram Violence

Early in the morning, Bannu District was shaken by a massive blast. A suicide bomber drove an explosive-filled vehicle straight into the Frontier Corps office, sparking hours of gunfire. Four to five attackers managed to get inside, and soon after, three groups Hafiz Gul Bahadar Group, Jabahatul Mahdi Khorasan, and Al Badar Ishtihadi Kandak claimed responsibility. They’re now all hiding under the banner of “Ittihadul Muhajideen Pakistan.”

However, the attackers were eventually taken out by security forces, but Pakistan paid a price of three soldiers martyred in the operation. The incident doesn’t just expose the brutality of these militants; it also reminds us how far they’ve strayed from Islam. Suicide bombings aren’t acts of bravery. They’re haram, condemned outright in the Quran and Sunnah.

Khawarij Suicide attacks are not jihad

The Khawarij try to frame suicide bombings as holy war, but Islam leaves no room for that lie. The Quran clearly tells us, Do not kill yourselves; indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful” (4:29). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned against taking one’s own life, saying such a person would be punished in the same way in the hereafter.

So, what these groups glorify as “martyrdom operations” is nothing but fasad and corruption on earth. It’s not just against the faith, it’s a rebellion against the very state that was founded in the name of Allah’s sovereignty.

This isn’t some fringe opinion. Around 1,800 ulema from across Pakistan’s sects have declared such groups Khawarij. Their fatwas leave no ambiguity that suicide bombings, rebellion against the Islamic Republic, and the killing of innocents are haram.

That consensus strips away any mask these groups try to wear. Their claim to religion is hollow. Their actions expose them as impostors who twist the Quran and Sunnah for their own power games.

The so-called “alliance” of defeated factions

The formation of Ittihadul Muhajideen Pakistan is being pitched by militants as some kind of grand coalition. It’s a merger of weakened splintered groups who couldn’t survive alone. They’ve been beaten down before, and now they’re trying to pool their scraps of strength.

Their motivations aren’t religious. They’re political, personal, and rooted in chaos. By attacking state institutions and killing fellow Muslims, they prove again that they don’t serve Islam. They serve their own ambitions.

The Bannu attack highlights Pakistan’s position clearly that there will be no space for such groups. The state’s policy of zero tolerance isn’t just rhetoric. All five attackers were eliminated in the clearance operation, and though three soldiers were martyred, their sacrifice embodies the resilience of this nation.

Pakistan has dismantled terrorist networks before, and the security forces are still relentless in chasing down any faction that threatens stability. The foundations of this country are tied to both Quranic sovereignty and constitutional principles. Militants can’t shake that with bombs or bullets.

Why the Khawarij stand exposed

Examining closely, these groups fail every test of legitimacy. Suicide bombings are banned in Islam. Likewise, the Constitution calls them rebellion. And internationally, they’re recognized as crimes against humanity.

By every measure, the Khawarij are enemies of Islam, Pakistan, and humanity itself. Their distorted narrative might attract attention for a while, but it doesn’t withstand scrutiny. They’re declared Khawarij by scholars, defeated on the battlefield, and rejected by ordinary Pakistanis.

The Bannu attack isn’t just another headline. It’s a reminder to stay alert, because groups like IMP thrive on propaganda. They try to project unity, but it’s built on desperation. They twist religion to justify murder, hoping to mislead the youth by intimidating the public.

Our responsibility as citizens is to see through that narrative. Suicide attacks are not jihad. Killing innocents is fasad. And rebellion against Pakistan is rebellion against the very idea of Islamic governance.

Bannu showed again that the Khawarij are willing to destroy themselves and others for chaos. They hide behind Islam, but their actions betray it at every step. Pakistan’s position is clear: zero tolerance. Whether they call themselves Bahadar Group, Mahdi Khorasan, Al Badar, or Ittihadul Muhajideen Pakistan, their fate will be the same.

They’ve been defeated before, and they’ll be defeated again. Pakistan’s unity, its Constitution, and the truth of Islam are stronger than their violence. In the end, the Khawarij will fade, but the resolve of this nation will not.
