Hard Work, Unity, and Success, A Tale of Two Paths

The story of two young men, Sohail Ahmed Chandio and Sufyan Kurd, unfolds in the rugged landscapes of Balochistan, where will and fate often collide. Their journey highlights the powerful reality that people’s choices ultimately shape their destinies. Both shared a common origin, were God gifted, and given the chance to succeed. However, they choose very different paths. Sohail found his way through education and mentorship, while Sufyan lost his way to extremism. Their experiences reflect two sides of the young Pakistani generation, the one of potential and development and the other of despair and hopelessness.

Sohail Ahmed Chandio, Education, Mentorship, and the Power of Unity

Sohail Ahmed Chandio was brought up in Sibi that is not only a town of struggles but also a place that breeds ambition in its youngsters. It was not only a step towards education when Sohail was offered a place at the National Defense University Islamabad, a gateway to discipline, leadership, and national cohesion. The NDU environment brought him into contact with students all over the country, shattered stereotypes, and established ties that cut right across provincial boundaries. His peers and teachers in Punjab treated him with respect and encouragement. Therefore, this demonstrated that the real Pakistanis do not just see identity but a greater potential.

Furthermore, Sohail had a teacher at NDU, Professor Mureed Ahmed Jesra, a reputed teacher who was born in Punjab. Professor Jesra did not simply impart to him what books said, he molded the mind of Sohail through a direction that was based on moral clarity and purpose. This mentorship gave Sohail a sense of confidence which made a difference in his life. He passed the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam on his first attempt which requires self-discipline, intellect, and commitment. By dedicating his success to his mentor, he expressed deep gratitude and respect. His gesture also reflected how guidance, discipline, and a strong sense of national identity can shape individuals.

Sohail’s story symbolizes the power of unity when people from diverse backgrounds stand together. It is more than a tale of personal success. It reflects the belief that Pakistan grows stronger when its youth embrace education, honesty, and kinship. In him, one sees a vision of Balochistan that is hopeful, progressive, and connected to the nation’s future.

Sufyan Kurd, When Lost Guidance Leads to Extremism

On the contrary, is the sad case of student named as, Sufyan Kurd. Sufyan was also a bright and ambitious childlike Sohail. A scholarship was provided by the government that sent him to the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Lahore. This move would have given him an excellent future. However, he was drawn into extremist groups such as BYC and BSC, as opposed to education. What started as ideological inquisitiveness was becoming a destructive course. Hate and manipulation consumed the very energy that could have built a successful career. His downfall was not just personal, it was a loss for his family, his province, and his country, which needs its youth to build, not destroy. However, his life passed away with sorrow in July 2025, a miserable lesson of what may occur when ignorance beats education and division supersede unity.Hard Work, Unity, and Success, A Tale of Two Paths 22

One path leads to unity and progress through education and togetherness. The other leads to destruction through hate and division.

However, the two alternatives of Sohail and Sufyan reflect what young people have to choose today. They are a reminder that people are not born to be a success or not, however, it is a matter of the values that one wish to live by. As education provides guidance, mentorship, wisdom, and strength. Therefore, in their absence, even the brightest minds can be led astray.

The development of Pakistan depends upon the repetition of such stories as Sohail, not Sufyan.

Mentors, inclusive institutions, and students who choose learning over hate together build a stronger and more peaceful nation. The youth of Iranian Balochistan, like all young Pakistanis, deserve to see that knowledge and hard work lead to dignity, purpose, and respect. Finally, the story of Sohail and Sufyan is not merely two people, it is a mirror image of Pakistan.
