Amusement Park Accident in Saudi Arabia Injures Dozens

Taif, Saudi Arabia – A shocking incident at an amusement park in Taif has left at least 23 people injured. A popular ride, known as “360 Degrees,” reportedly snapped mid-operation, causing its elevated carousel to plummet several meters to the ground on Wednesday.
Graphic footage of the accident has been circulating online, showing the ride breaking apart and the circular platform crashing down. According to Saudi-owned Al Arabiya TV, among the 23 injured individuals, four are in serious condition.
Authorities have immediately closed the amusement park in Taif, located in the southwest of Saudi Arabia, and have launched a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the malfunction.
This incident comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is heavily investing in leisure and entertainment facilities as part of its Vision 2030 plan to diversify its economy away from oil. The kingdom is currently developing several large-scale “giga-projects,” including the ambitious Qiddiya entertainment city near Riyadh.
