DPM vows to strengthen ties with brotherly countries

ISLAMABAD / JEDDAH, Pakistan’s (DPM) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening relations with its brotherly nations during a series of diplomatic engagements. He highlighted key advances in cooperation across multiple regions, including North Africa, Malaysia, and Bangladesh, underscoring the importance of regional connectivity, trade, and unity in the Muslim Ummah.
Strengthening Ties with Egypt & Algeria
On the sidelines of an OIC Council of Foreign Ministers session in Jeddah, DPM Dar held a “meaningful interaction” with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Algeria. He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to strengthen connections with its North African allies through enhanced connectivity and multifaceted cooperation across sectors such as trade, culture, and regional diplomacy. Reviving Pakistan–Bangladesh Links
In Dhaka, Dar met with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, to discuss the “revival of old connections.” The two countries signed six MoUs covering trade, economic cooperation, visa policies, media exchange, academic links, and cultural programs.
